Grade 630 plate stainless steels are martensitic stainless steels that are precipitation hardened to achieve excellent mechanical properties. These Grade 630 plate steel achieve high strength and hardness following heat treatment.
This steel is normally supplied in the solution annealed condition. It can also be supplied after a range of precipitation hardening treatments.

These grades are therefore well suited to production of long shafts, which require no re-straightening after heat treatment.
