Grade 347 plate is an austenitic stainless alloy. A major advantage Grade 347 plate offers over many other austenitic Grade 347 plate alloys such as grade 304 and 316 is Grade 347 plates excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion at elevated temperatures.

Type 347 is an austenitic stainless steel stabilized by additions of columbium (plus tantalum) to reduce or prevent carbide precipitation during welding and in service at 800/1650ºF (430/900ºC.)
